8th Grade Math:    Today in 
math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students 
took the chapter 4 math test.  
Assignments:    Review
 homework #6 is due on Wednesday.   
7th Grade Math:  Today in math students 
began class by using their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back 
into chapter four.  We moved back into section 4.6 on comparing and ordering fractions and
 mixed numbers.  Students reviewed the definitions for a proper fraction, an improper fraction and how to convert each into the other.  Students were then given about 30 minutes of class time to complete the 4.6 worksheet.  
Assignments:  
 Review
 homework #6 is due on Wednesday.  Students should be completing the 4.6 worksheet if they did not complete it in the class time provided. 
Science: 
 Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students participated in an activity where all students in Mr. Olsen's and Mr. White's science classes will build an advertisement based on the element selected during a house wide drawing.   We then 
continued our discussion on Ethos, Logos and Pathos in advertising.  Our
 activity today involved defining a target audience and having a plan on how to sell your product.  
Assignments:     None.    
FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/31, 
the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will 
no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit 
for the work they do, when it is due.
