8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students continued working with isometrics.  Today students were given class time to continue designing and sketching their "dream house."  

Assignments:     Review Homework #24 is due on Wednesday.  
 
7th Grade Math:  Today in math, students began class using their flashmasters.  Next, students were introduced to the multiplication and division properties of equality.  Students began solving equations by "undoing" equations by using the inverse operation.  
  
Assignments:  Review Homework #24 is due on Wednesday.  Students should be completing the 7.4 worksheet. 

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were given class time to continue working on their Paper Airplane project.   Students will not be given much more class time to work on this project, thus, the due date will be Friday May 25th.   

Assignments:     Students should be working on their Paper Airplane projects on their free time as there will not be too much more class time available to work on it. 

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/31, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.

8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students continued working with isometrics.  Today students were introduced to our project, Isometric Dream House.  Students will be designing, sketching, drafting, tracing and polishing their dream house on isometric dot paper.  This will be going on for the next week and a half or so.  

Assignments:     Review Homework #23 is due on Friday.

8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students continued working with isometrics.  Students reviewed the definitions of key vocabulary and were able to spend the majority of class practicing creating shapes using isometric dot paper. 

Assignments:     Review Homework #23 is due on Friday.

Assignments:  Review Homework #23 is due on Friday.  Students should be completing their worksheet on solving equations using addition and subtraction if they did not finish in the class time provided.    

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were given time to work on their paper airplane projects.  

Assignments:     Students have been asked to come to class on Thursday with the designs of paper airplanes they plan on testing throughout their project, along with a hypothesis for their project.

8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students continued working with isometrics.  Students reviewed the definitions of key vocabulary and were able to spend the majority of class practicing creating shapes using isometric dot paper.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math, students began class using their flashmasters.  Next, students were introduced to solving equations using addition and subtraction.  Students were given the addition and subtraction properties of equality and were led through several examples of solving equations by using the opposite operation of the one in the original problem.  Students were then assigned the 7.3 worksheet and given about 15 minutes of class time to work on completing the assignment. 
  
Assignments:  Review Homework #22 is due on Wednesday.  Students should be completing the 7.3 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.    

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students reviewed Newton's Laws of Motion.  Students were then introduced to the next project.  Students will be conducting an experiment, following the steps of the scientific method, and will be comparing three different designs of paper airplanes, answering a question they come up with individually, and drawing some conclusions based on the results of their experiments. 

Assignments:     Students have been asked to come to class on Wednesday with the question or questions they want to answer during this Paper Airplane project.

8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students were introduced to isometrics.  Students were given the definitions of key vocabulary and were able to spend the last fifteen minutes of class practicing creating shapes using isometric dot paper. 

Assignments:     Review Homework #22 is due on Wednesday.  
 
7th Grade Math:  Today in math, students began class using their flashmasters.  Next, students picked up where we left off on Friday, simplifying variable expressions.  Students reviewed the vocabulary introduced Friday, before Mr. Olsen led students through a few examples before assigning the 7.2 worksheet.   
  
Assignments:  Review Homework #22 is due on Wednesday.  Students should be completing the 7.2 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.  The 7.2 worksheet is due Tuesday.   

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to Newtons laws.  We began our conversation by determining the four forces involved in flight.  Once these forces were identified, we defined them and had a class discussion on how these forces work together to aid in flight.  

Assignments:     Students have been asked think about or build a paper airplane that would have the longest flight pattern for class on Tuesday.

7th Grade Math:  There was no math class today, as students took the MAPs math test.  
  
Assignments:  Students should be completing the 7.1 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.  The 7.1 worksheet is due Friday.   

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students displayed their knowledge of astronomy and the planets on a test.  

Assignments:     Students have been asked to read two articles and answer three questions about each of them for class tomorrow.

8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students took the chapter 10 test.

Assignments:     None. 
 
7th Grade Math:  Today in math, students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 7.  Students are being introduced to variable expressions, and building their skills by identifying key vocabulary and writing out expressions when given a verbal sentence.  Students were then assigned the 7.1 worksheet and given about 15 minutes of class time to complete the assignment. 
  
Assignments:  Review homework #21 is due on Friday.  Students should be completing the 7.1 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.  The 7.1 worksheet is due Friday.   

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began the review process for the upcoming Planet test, scheduled for Wednesday. 

Assignments:     Students should be studying their notes and study guides for the test tomorrow.
