7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 2.  Today students reviewed the Multiplication Property of Equality, before they were introduced to the Division Properties of Equality. Students continued solving equations by using the opposite operation of the one being used in the original equation.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 2.6 worksheet as homework, due Tuesday in class. 

Assignments:  The problems assigned the section 2.6 worksheet to be due Tuesday in class.  Review Homework #13 is due on Wednesday in class.  Students can expect the chapter 2 Test on Thursday.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter one.  Today students reviewed the order of operations.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the 1.3 worksheet (odds only) to be due Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Students were assigned the section 1.3 worksheet (odds only) to be due Tuesday in class.  Review Homework #13 is due Wednesday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were given about 10 minutes of class time to put some final touches on their poster projects, before their evaluated their own work throughout the project, as well as their partners work.
   
Assignments:  Students should be completing their self and group evaluations if they did not complete them during the class time available.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 2.  Today students reviewed the Addition and Subtraction Properties of Equality, before they were introduced to the Division and Multiplication Properties of Equality. Assignments:  The problems assigned from the text book, p. 99 #1-11, are due Friday in class.  Review Homework #12 is due on Friday in class.  Students can also expect a quiz on Friday.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter one.  Today students were introduced to developing a problem solving plan or strategy in order to help them tackle word problems.  Students took notes on their plans, and then practiced using the plans on a challenging word problem.

Assignments:  Review Homework #12 is due Friday in class.  Students can expect a quiz on expressions, powers and variables Friday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students had another work day to begin putting together their Dry Ice Investigation posters.  Friday will be the final day of class time to work on their group posters.   

Assignments:  Students can be continuing to type up their lab write ups, as the final poster products will be due by Monday October 14th.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 2.  Today students were introduced to the Addition and Subtraction Properties of Equality. 8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter one.  Today students came into to class and began, and should have finished, the section 1.2 Practice A worksheet.

Assignments:   The section 1.2 Practice A worksheet is due Thursday in class.  Review Homework #12 is due Friday in class.
 
Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students completed the typing of their Dry Ice Investigations lab reports.   Some student groups were able to begin putting their posters together.  

Assignments:  Students can be continuing to type up their lab write ups, as the final poster products will be due by Monday October 14th.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 2.  Today we began working with verbal expressions and converting them into equations.  We then began working on solving the equations for the variable involved.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 2.4 worksheet as homework.  

Assignments:  The section 2.4 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.  Review Homework #11 is due on Wednesday in class.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter one.  Today students reviewed the rules associated with powers and exponents before we practiced several examples as a group.  Students were then assigned the section 1.2 worksheet as homework and given about 35 minutes of class time to get themselves started.

Assignments:   The section 1.2 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.  Review Homework #11 is due Wednesday in class.
 
Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued and hopefully completed typing up their Dry Ice Investigations lab reports.   

Assignments:  Students can be continuing to type up their lab write ups, as we will be beginning the posters by Wednesday of this week.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into completing the quiz from Friday's class.  We then reviewed and practiced identifying the terms, like terms, coefficients and constants from several example expressions.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #11 is due on Wednesday in class.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter one.  Today students reviewed the area formulas for squares and rectangles, and the volume formula for cubes.  We then practiced identifying and using these formulas with several example problems.      

Assignments:   Review Homework #11 is due Wednesday in class.
   
Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began typing up their dry ice investigation lab write ups.  

Assignments:  Students can be continuing to type up their lab write ups, as we will be beginning the posters by Wednesday of this week.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 2.  Today students defined several important vocabulary words, terms, like terms, coefficients and constants.  We then practiced identifying the individual parts of expressions as well as simplifying variable expressions.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some problems from their at home text books.   

Assignments:  Students were assigned problems #1-9 from page 80 in their at home text books, to be due Thursday in class.  Review Homework #10 is due on Friday in class.  

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter one.  Today students were introduced to powers and exponents.  We reviewed important vocabulary, and practiced identifying these parts of equations.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework (page 12 in the text book, #1-6, to be due Thursday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began conducting their group investigations with dry ice.  We will continue the process and investigations Thursday in class.  

Assignments:  Students should be drawing conclusions and providing explanations based on the results from their in class explorations.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 2.  Today students picked back up with the distributive property.  In class, we reviewed the rules associated with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers with same and different signs, before practicing several examples of writing equivalent numerical and equivalent variable expressions.   

Assignments:  Students were assigned the section 2.2 worksheet as homework to be due Wednesday in class.  Review Homework #9 is due on Wednesday in class.   

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter one on evaluating and writing variable expressions.  We reviewed several important vocabulary words and practiced substituting and evaluating variable expressions.  Students were then assigned the section 1.1 worksheet and given about 25 minutes of class time to begin the assignment.       

Assignments:   The section 1.1 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.  Review Homework #9 is due Wednesday in class. 
     
Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began planning their own dry ice investigations.  Today students needed to complete their group's materials list and a detailed procedures list in order to be prepared to conduct their investigations tomorrow (Wednesday) in class.   

Assignments:  Students should be putting the final touches on their procedures list for their investigations they will be conducting on Wednesday in class.
