7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed adding and subtracting like and unlike fractions, before students began multiplying fractions.  Students then participated in a conversation concerning Study Island assignments and expectations.  We then began talking about dividing fractions and the use of reciprocals.  Students can expect a quiz on fraction operations Friday in class.       

Assignments:  Review Homework #4 is due by Friday in class on the Study Island website.   

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today students began the review process for the upcoming chapter 2 test.  The chapter 2 test will be continued Friday in class.   

Assignments:  Students should be studying and reviewing chapter 2 as the test will be continued on Friday in class. 

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued working with and learning about the periodic table.  Today students finished watching a film entitled "Hunting the Elements" to help them begin to associate how the world incorporates the periodic table of the elements into everyday life.  Students filled out a Video Note-taking Guide while watching the film, and students are expected to complete a reflection as homework tonight.     

Assignments:  Students should be completing the Elemental scavenger hunt by Friday of this week.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed adding and subtracting like and unlike fractions, before students began multiplying fractions.  Students were introduced to the rule of multiplying numerators and denominators, and then simplifying the end fraction.  Next, students learned about a process called cross canceling, a process to help students simplify the fractions before actually multiplying them.  By cross canceling first, the end answer is already simplified!  Students were then introduced to Study Island.  Review homework assignments will now be done on the computer, on the Study Island website.     

Assignments:  Review Homework #4 is due by Friday in class on the Study Island website.  The section 5.4 worksheet is due Thursday in class.    

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today students began the review process for the upcoming chapter 2 test.  The chapter 2 test will be Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed adding and subtracting like fractions, before they were introduced to adding and subtracting unlike fractions.  After some teacher led instruction and a few example problems, students were assigned the section 5.3 worksheet as homework, and given about 15 minutes of class time to get started.    

Assignments:  Review Homework #3 is due Wednesday in class.  The section 5.3 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.    

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today students reviewed the process of solving equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  Next students began solving equations that involve decimals.  After some teacher instruction, and several examples, students were assigned the section 2.7 worksheet (Practice A odds only) and give about 30 minutes of class time to get started. Students can expect the chapter 2 test on Thursday of this week.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #3 is due Wednesday in class.  The section 2.7 worksheet (Practice A odds only) is due Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed adding and subtracting like fractions, before they were introduced to adding and subtracting unlike fractions.  After some teacher led instruction and a few example problems, students were assigned some homework problems out of the text book, page 233-234 #1-19 for class on Tuesday.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #3 is due Wednesday in class.  The homework from the text book page 233-234 #1-19 are due Tuesday in class.     

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today students reviewed the process of solving equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  Next students began a review of decimal operations.  Today students reviewed the rules of adding and subtracting decimals, and practiced several example problems together.       

Assignments:  Review Homework #3 is due Wednesday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued working with and learning about the periodic table.  Today students completed a scavenger hunt by working on an interactive table on a website given to them by Mr. Olsen. Once students completed the Periodic Table Scavenger Hunt, students began working on the Elemental Scavenger Hunt.    

Assignments:  Students should be completing the Elemental scavenger hunt by Friday of this week.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5.  Today students learned how to convert fractions to decimals and vise versa, as well as how to convert repeating decimals into fractions.  After some teacher led instruction, and several example problems, students were assigned the section 5.1 worksheet as homework.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #2 is due Friday in class.  The section 5.1 worksheet is due Thursday in class.   

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today students reviewed the process of solving equations using addition and subtraction.  Next, students continued working on solving equations using multiplication and or division. After some teacher led instruction, and several example problems, students were assigned the section 2.6 worksheet (odds only) as homework.      

Assignments:  Review Homework #2 is due Friday in class.  The section 2.6 worksheet is due Thursday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued working with and learning about the periodic table.  Today students completed a review sheet that helps them recall important information regarding the nonmetal and metalloid elements of the periodic table.    

Assignments:  Students should be completing the NonMetal and Metalloid Elements Review sheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students took a fractions pre-test.  We graded the pre-test together before the end of class.   

Assignments:  Review Homework #1 is due Wednesday in class.     

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today students reviewed the process of solving equations using addition and subtraction.  Next, students were introduced to solving equations using multiplication and or division.  Students took some notes on the key concepts, before working through several examples together.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued working with and learning about the periodic table.  Today students completed a review sheet that helps them recall important information regarding the metal elements of the periodic table.    

Assignments:  Students should be completing the Metal Elements Review sheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed scientific notation and standard form, before students were introduced to chapter 5.  Chapter 5 is all about fractions, and today students began learning how to write fractions as decimals and vise versa.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned problems from the text book, page 222 #20-43 to be due Tuesday in class.   

Assignments:  Review Homework #1 is due Wednesday in class.  The problems from the textbook, page 222 #20-43 are due Tuesday in class.     

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today students reviewed the process of solving equations using addition and subtraction.  Next, students worked on a worksheet that had them solving equations using either addition or subtraction.  This worksheet is due Tuesday in class.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #1 is due Wednesday in class.  Worksheet 3-2 on solving equations using addition or subtraction is due Tuesday in class.  

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued working with and learning about the periodic table.  Today students completed a review sheet that helps them recall important information regarding how the periodic table is organized.
