8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into chapter 5.  Today students were introduced to solving systems of equations using elimination.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were asked to complete workbook page 112 for class on Tuesday.  

Assignments:  Review HW #51 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook page 112 is due Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students jumped into chapter 7 and began working with square roots.  Students worked with identifying perfect squares as well as how to identify positive and negative square roots.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned workbook page 146 for class on Tuesday.

Assignments:  Review HW #51 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook page 146 is due Tuesday in class.

  

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into the unit on physics.  Students were then given all of the remaining class time to begin working on the final drafts of their Newton's Laws of Motion comic strips. The final drafts are due on Friday April 22nd. 

Assignments:  Final drafts of all three comics are due on Friday of this week.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into chapter 5.  Today students were introduced to solving systems of equations using elimination.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were asked to complete Activity 3 in their practice workbooks on pages 110-111 for class on Wednesday.  

Assignments:  Review HW #49 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook pages 110-111 are due Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued identifying and comparing linear and nonlinear functions from tables and graphs.  After some teacher led instruction and an example or two, students were asked to complete the section 6.5 Practice A worksheet, to be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #49 is due Wednesday in class.  The section 6.5 Practice A worksheet is due Wednesday in class.

  

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into the unit on physics.  Students were then given all of the remaining class time to continue working on the rough drafts of their Newton's Laws of Motion comic strips.  Rough drafts of all three comics and the explanation page describing how they are demonstrating Newton's Law in their comic are due by Friday at the end of class.  The final products are due on Friday April 22nd.  

Assignments:  Rough drafts of all three comics are due on Friday of this week.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into chapter 5.  Today students completed the quiz we began on Friday in class.  As students finished the quiz, they were handed a section 5.2 Puzzle to complete, that will be due Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #49 is due Wednesday in class.  The section 5.2 puzzle will be due Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began identifying and comparing linear and nonlinear functions from tables and graphs.  After some teacher led instruction and an example or two, students were asked to complete the activities #1-4 in the practice workbook, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #49 is due Wednesday in class.  The section 6.5 activities from the practice workbook are due Tuesday in class.

  

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into the unit on physics.  Students were introduced to the next project, Newton's Laws in Comic strips.  After an introduction to the project and a quick question and answer session, students were set free to get started on completing the front side of our planning worksheet.

Assignments:  The front side of the planning worksheet is due in class on Tuesday.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into chapter 5.  Today students continued working with solving systems of equations via substitution.  After some teacher led instruction and several in class examples, students were assigned some work from the textbook, page 212-213 # 13-20, to be due on Friday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #48 is due Friday in class.  Textbook page 212-213 #13-20 are due Friday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning how to recognize when a pattern in real life is linear or nonlinear.  After some teacher led instruction and several in class examples, students were assigned the section 6.4 Practice A worksheet, to be due Friday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #48 is due Friday in class.  Section 6.4 Practice A WS is due Friday in class.

  

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into the unit on physics.  Students spent today's class period demonstrating Newton's Third Law of Motion in a lab setting.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning how to identify linear and non linear functions.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned workbook pages 133-135, the activities for section 6.4.  The activities are due Thursday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into the unit on physics.  Students spent today's class period reading to learn about Newton's Third Law of Motion.  We read the chapter out loud together as a class, and then students were given the last 15 minutes of class time to complete the section 2.4 worksheet in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into chapter 5.  Today students continued working with solving systems of equations via substitution.  After some teacher led instruction and several in class examples, students were assigned some text book work, page 212 # 7-12, to be due Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning how to develop function rules for a given scenario or graph of a linear equation.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned workbook page 132 as well as section 6.3 Practice A.  Both assignments are due Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #47 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook page 132 and 6.3 Practice A are both due Wednesday in class.

  

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into the unit on physics.  Students spent today's class period completing the friction lab we began in class on Monday.  We then transitioned back into the text book and began reading to learn about Newton's Third Law of Motion. 

Assignments:  Students should be completing the Sneaky Sneakers Friction Lab worksheet for class on Wednesday if they did not finish in the class time provided.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into chapter 5.  Today students were introduced to the idea of solving systems of linear equations through substitution rather than using tables and graphs.  After some teacher led instruction, and a few example problems, students were given class time to complete activity 3 on pages 106 &107 of the practice workbook, which will be due Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #47 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook pages 106-107 are  due Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning how to develop function rules for a given scenario or graph of a linear equation.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some problems to complete out of the textbook, page 261 #3-10, to be due Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #47 is due Wednesday in class.  Textbook page 261 #3-10 are due Tuesday in class.

  

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into the unit on physics.  Students spent today's class period testing the friction between different types of sneakers and different types of surfaces.  Students were introduced to the lab at the beginning of class, before they split into groups of 4, and began testing the different sneakers in each group.
