Wednesday September 7, 2016

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students graded their homework from Tuesday.  Next, we transitioned into section 1.4 on solving equations with Absolute Values.  Students were given some class time to work through the self directed activities in the practice workbook.  Students had quite a bit of trouble connecting to the concept, and we ran out of class time.  We will pick this concept up on Thursday in class.

Assignments:  None.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities.  We then graded our quizzes from Friday.  Next we continued working with integers and today we continued learning about subtracting integers.  After some teacher led instruction and some guidance, students were assigned a worksheet practicing the rules we learned for subtracting integers.

Assignments:  Review HW #5 is due Thursday.  The Subtracting Integers Practice A worksheet is due Thursday in class.

Science:  Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Students then participated in a class discussion on understanding the differences between quality observations and making inferences.  Students then were given class time to attempt to identify the plants they collected on Tuesday in class, by using some plant identification books from our school library.
