Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students who were present, (many students were on a field trip today) participated in a discussion on exponential functions.  

Assignments:  None.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and continued working with ratios and proportions. Students began working with how to write and solve proportions.  After some teacher led instruction, students were given some class time to begin working on the section 5.3 explorations (activities) on workbook pages 95-97.  These pages will be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review Homework #31 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook pages 95-97 are due Tuesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then began defining some key vocabulary words associated with our next unit on cells.  Students then read an article about bioengineering and answered several questions and writing prompts provided to them concerning the article.  

Assignments: None.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the concepts of working with exponents.  Students were then introduced to identifying and evaluating exponential functions.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 6.3 Practice A worksheet, to be due Friday in class.

Assignments:  Students were assigned the section 6.3 Practice A worksheet, to be due on Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and continued working with ratios and proportions. Students were introduced to the coordinate plane in class today and were shown how to determine whether ratios form proportions by graphing the table of given values.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples of how to determine whether two ratios form a proportion by graphing, students were assigned workbook pages 93 & 94, to be due on Friday.

Assignments:  Workbook pages 93 & 94 are due Friday in class.

Science:  There was no science today, as students are taking the MAPs tests in the morning and the Taku House is having math and language arts classes in the afternoon this week.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the concepts of working with exponents.  Students were then introduced to identifying and evaluating exponential functions.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework problems from the text book, p. 310-311 # 15-19 odds, 21-24, 25-35 odds, to be due Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and began working with ratios and proportions.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples of how to determine whether two ratios form a proportion, we ran out of class time.  

Assignments:  The Review Packet is due on Thursday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the concepts of working with exponents.  Students were then introduced to working with nth roots.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework from the textbook, page 303-304 # 1, 8-12, 14-34 evens, 35, 40, to be due Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and finding ratios, rates and unit rates.  Students were given the first 25 minutes of class time to begin working on the section 5.1 Practice A worksheet, before students were introduced to proportions.  Students defined what a proportion was and then worked through a couple of examples of determining whether or not to ratios were proportional.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #30 is due on Friday in class.  The section 5.1 Practice A worksheet is due Friday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students reviewed the parts of compound microscopes, before all students participated in a matching activity designed to help students learn the functions of the parts of compound microscopes.  

Assignments: Students should be completing the matching activity this evening if they did not finish in the class time provided.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the concepts of working with exponents.  Students were then assigned and given class time to begin working on workbook pages 167 & 173-177, to be due on Thursday in class.

Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and finding ratios, rates and unit rates.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were given some class time to begin working on a ratio/rate worksheet, which will be due on Thursday in class.

Assignments:  Review Homework #30 is due on Friday in class.  The ratio/rate worksheet students began in class is due Thursday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students reviewed the parts of compound microscopes, before all students participated in a microscope station lab.  Students filled in a worksheet as they moved through the microscope stations, sketching what they were viewing at each different station, including a sketch of the object at different objective powers.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to the compound microscope.  Students spent some time identifying the parts of a microscope by completing a worksheet and using a text book to help them correctly identify the parts, before taking some notes on the history of microscopes and how they are used.
