Thursday September 23, 2010

8th Grade Math: Students began class with the problem of the day, before jumping back into chapter 2. We graded section 2.2 worksheet as a class, before moving into a discussion on unit rates and different conversion equations commonly encountered in math word problems.

Assignments: Review Homework #7 is due Friday.

7th Grade Math: Today students began class with their flashmasters. Students revisited section 2.2 by grading their completed worksheets as a class. We then moved into section 2.3 on multiplying decimals. After some teacher led instruction and a few example problems, students were handed a worksheet (2.3) to practice their skills.

Assignments: Review Homework #7 is due Friday. Section 2.3 worksheet is due in class tomorrow.

Science: Today in science students continued working with root words, along with prefixes and suffixes. Students finished up the first part of the activity by using the dictionary to define the prefixes and suffixes. Once they finished that portion, they began building flashcards to aide them in their memorization of these prefixes and suffixes and root words.

Assignments: Students should be using their flashcards at home this evening to help them study for their upcoming quiz.
