Assignments:   Review Homework #16 is due Friday.

Science:  Today in science, students worked with their partner for the Bubble Gum Challenge activity.  Students spent time in class typing up their groups materials list, procedures lists and building a data table for another group that will conduct someone else's experiment in class the next two days.

Assignments:  Students should be finishing up the typed materials lists and procedures lists for class on Thursday.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before jumping back into chapter 3.  Today students began working with equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign.  We reviewed two-step equations, and solving equations involving like terms and parentheses before applying all of those skills with variables on both sides of the equal sign.

Assignments:   Review Homework #14 is due Wednesday.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, we jumped back into section two of chapter two.   We reviewed the rules associated with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers before jumping back into the distributive property.  After a few teacher led example problems, students were assigned the 2.2 worksheet and given about 20 minutes of class time to get started.

Assignments:   Review Homework #15 is due Wednesday.  The section 2.2 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students worked with their partner for the Bubble Gum Challenge activity.  Students spent time in class completing their gum experiments, graphing their results, and beginning to write out their lab write-ups, which will need to be typed up by the end of class on Wednesday.

Assignments:  Students can and should be analyzing their data from their bubble gum experiments.  Students should be organizing their notes and packets to be prepared to type up their materials lists and procedures on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before jumping into chapter 3.  Today students continued to work with equations involving multiple steps, like terms and parentheses.  Students seem to be struggling with solving equations involving the distributive property, so we spent some class time today reviewing solving equations with the distributive property.  Students were assigned the 3.2 worksheet for homework.

Assignments:   Review Homework #14 is due Wednesday.   The section 3.2 worksheet is due Tuesday in class.   Students can also be making corrections to their chapter 2 tests, and they are due in class on Tuesday.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students reviewed the properties of addition and multiplication, before moving into problems involving the distributive property.  We defined the property in class, and practiced several examples before time ran out in class.

Assignments:   Review Homework #15 is due Wednesday.  Students can complete quiz corrections by Tuesday if they would like to improve their quiz grades.

Students should have their graphs of their results done by class on Tuesday.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before jumping into chapter 3.  Today students were introduced to solving two-step equations, and solving equations that have like terms and parentheses.  Mr. Olsen led students through several examples before we ran out of class time.

Assignments:   Review Homework #13 is due Friday.   The math journal property activity has a tentative due date of this Friday in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, we continued working with the  properties of addition and multiplication.  Today students were introduced to the distributive property.  Mr. Olsen led students through several key vocabulary words and a few example problems before time ran out.

Assignments:   Review Homework #14 is due Friday.  Students can expect a quiz on the first six properties we have talked about in section one of chapter 2.

Science:  Today in science, students worked with their partner for the Bubble Gum Challenge activity.  Students spent time in class completing their materials lists and their detailed procedures list.  Once Mr. Olsen checked off each groups procedure lists, students were given the opportunity to begin their bubble gum experiments.

Assignments:  Students can and should be completing their procedures list so they can continue with their bubble gum experiments on Friday in class.
