Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students jumped into chapter 4.  After some quick review of identifying whether a function is linear or nonlinear and how you would know, and graphing some linear equations, students were provided some teacher led instruction of how to produce the equation of a given line on a graph, students were given class time to work on the chapter 4 section 1 Extra Practice in their workbooks.  Workbook pages 99 & 100 will be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments:   Students were assigned workbook pages 99 & 100, to be due Wednesday in class. 

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then continued solving equations using inverse operations.  Today students reviewed how to solve equations involving addition and subtraction.  Student then continued solving equations using multiplication and division.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some the Section 3.4 Practice A worksheet, to be due on Wednesday in class. 

Assignments:  Review Homework #20 is due on Wednesday in class.  The section 3.4 Practice A worksheet is due Wednesday in class. 

Science:  Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to the textbook "From Bacteria to Plants."  Students spent the class period reading to learn about "What is Life" from the text book and answering several guided reading questions as we read aloud together.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students jumped into chapter 4.  After some quick review of identifying whether a function is linear or nonlinear and how you would know, and graphing some linear equations, students were given class time to work on the chapter 4 section 1 explorations in their practice workbooks.  Workbook pages 96 & 97 will be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:   Students were assigned workbook pages 96 & 97, to be due Tuesday in class. 

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then continued solving equations using inverse operations.  Today students were reviewing how to solve equations involving addition and subtraction.  Students were then introduced to solving equations using multiplication and division.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned workbook page 60 to be due on Tuesday in class. 

Assignments:  Review Homework #20 is due on Wednesday in class.  Workbook page 60 is due Tuesday in class. 

Science:  Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to the textbook "From Bacteria to Plants."  Students spent some class time defining several key vocabulary words, before silently reading pages 10-13 and then answering several questions prompting them to think about the situation presented in the reading.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students took the chapter 3 Test in class.

Assignments:   Students were assigned workbook page 95 as well as a linear equations worksheet both of which will be due on Monday November 14th.  

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then continued solving equations using inverse operations.  Today students were solving equations involving addition and subtraction.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were given class time to complete a double sided worksheet solving equations using addition and subtraction.  

Assignments:  The double sided solving equations worksheet will be due on Monday November 14th.  

Science:  Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students completed a worksheet where they were given the creative freedom to design an experiment regardless of resources available.  Students are learning about the scientific method, and they designed an experiment about a subject they are most interested in and to pretend that there are no limitations regarding resources.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 3.  Students were given a review activity to complete in preparation for the chapter 3 test scheduled for Tuesday.

Assignments:   The chapter 3 Test is scheduled for Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students were then introduced to solving equations using inverse operations.  Today students were solving equations involving addition and subtraction.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned workbook page 56, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 3.  Students continued reviewing transformations within the coordinate plane.  Students were learning how to work with transformations of graphs of absolute value functions.  There was lots of teacher led instruction and note-taking by students as Mr. Olsen was helping students key in on the clues that guide students when working with translations, reflections and stretches and shrinks of absolute value functions.  Students were assigned some practice problems from the textbook page 160 # 9,11,13,23,25,27,31 to be due on Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities.  Students were then reviewing and working with Greatest Common Factors.  Students continued practicing listing factors and using factor trees in order to find the GCF of given integers.  Students reviewed how to factor algebraic expressions, before being introduced to solving equations using addition. Students were assigned some problems from the text book page 93 #1-13, to be due on Friday in class. 

Assignments:  The Review HW #18 is due Friday in class.  Students were assigned some problems from the text book page 93 #1-13, to be due on Friday in class. 

Science:  Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students watched a film entitled "I Am Eleven."

Science:  Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were given an assessment of the process they followed during our classes mock investigation into the possible reasons behind the absences of local middle schools.  Students were asked to recall the seven different pieces of evidence used during our investigation and review how it helped them draw conclusions and find answers to their investigation.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 3.  Students continued reviewing transformations within the coordinate plane.  There was lots of teacher led instruction and note-taking by students as Mr. Olsen was helping students key in on the clues that guide students when working with translations, reflections, and stretches and/or shrinks of graphs of linear equations.  Students were assigned the section 3.6 Practice A and Practice B worksheets, to be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  Students were assigned the section 3.6 Practice A and Practice B worksheets, both of which will be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities.  Students were then reviewing and working with Greatest Common Factors.  Students were practicing listing factors and using factor trees in order to find the GCF of given integers.  Students were then introduced to factoring algebraic expressions.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned workbook page 51 #1-9 to be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  The Halloween math packet is due on Wednesday in class.  Workbook page 51 #1-9 are due Wednesday in class.

Science:  Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students jumped back into groups in class and finalized their investigations into the absences at the local middle schools in this scenario.
