Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 4 and section 2, where students picked up on where we left off on Monday, by practicing writing the point-slope formula from a given point and the slope, or by working with the graph of a line.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned homework from the text book, page 185 #1; 8-15; 17; 21; 25; 27 to be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned into chapter 3.  Students reviewed the difference between an expression and an equation.  Next, we began learning about terms of an expression (or an equation), including identifying like terms and how to identify a coefficient as well as how to combine like terms. 

Assignments: Review Homework #21 is due on Wednesday in class. 

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students spent some class time quizzing each other on the 30 vocab words they are in the process of memorizing.  Students then spent time coming up with some physical actions as groups to help each other learn the words.  

The Vocabulary quiz on these 30 words will be on Thursday of this week.

Assignments:  Students should be coming to class on Wednesday with the 30 vocabulary words on Flashcards.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 4 and section 2, where students spent about 20 minutes of class time completing the workbook activities in class, before some teacher led instruction and several example problems. Students were assigned practice workbook page 104, to be due on Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned into chapter 3.  Students were introduced to the difference between an expression and an equation.  After a bit of class room instruction from Mr. Olsen, students were given some class time to begin working on workbook page 43, which is due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments: Review Homework #21 is due on Wednesday in class.  Workbook page 43 is due Tuesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students finished defining the 30 chemistry vocabulary words they will be expected to memorize over the next 4 days.  Students were given a grade for the completed worksheet today in class.  Students were then given the remaining class time to complete their 30 flashcards and to begin the memorization process. 

The Vocabulary quiz on these 30 words will be on Thursday of this week.

Assignments:  Students should be coming to class on Tuesday with the 30 vocabulary words on Flashcards.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 4 and section 1 on writing equations in slope intercept form from a set of given points on a graph, from a line on a graph, etc.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned practice workbook pages 99 & 100, to be due on Monday in class.
  
Assignments:  Students were assigned practice workbook pages 99 & 100 as homework, to be due on Monday in class.  The linear equations worksheet handed out in class is also due on Monday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students completed their chapter 2 test.

Assignments: Students were handed the section 2.3 Extension and Enrichment worksheet, to be due on Monday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students finished defining the 30 chemistry vocabulary words they will be expected to memorize over the next 10 days.  Once students finished defining the vocab words, they were handed a stack of 30 notecards to make flashcards to help them with the memorization process.  

Assignments:  Students should be coming to class on Monday with the 30 vocabulary words defined on the worksheet provided.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students were handed their chapter 3 tests back and we went over some commonly missed problems.  Next, students were given class time to begin working on the activities for section 4.1 in the practice workbook.  
  
Assignments:  Students were assigned practice workbook pages 96 & 97 as homework, to be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students began working on the chapter 2 test.

Assignments: Review Homework #20 is due on Wednesday. Practice workbook pages 41 & 42 are due Wednesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were defining several key chemistry vocabulary terms, including an example of each word as well as an explanation of how to use the word in a science setting.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students took the chapter 3 TEST.
  
Assignments:  Students were then assigned practice workbook page 95 as homework as well as an Intercepts worksheet, to be due on Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned into chapter 2 and rational numbers.  Students then spent the class period completing the chapter 2 review from the text book, as the chapter 2 test is scheduled for Tuesday in class.

Assignments: Review Homework #20 is due on Wednesday.  The chapter 2 test will be Tuesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to the chemistry unit by taking some notes on scientific vocabulary presented in class.  Students completed a note-taking guide while following along on a powerpoint presentation during class.

Assignments:  Students should be completing the note-taking guide if they didn't finish in the class time provided.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 3 and working with functions.  Mr. Olsen reminded students of our  lesson on horizontal and vertical stretches and shrinks.  Today students were describing and graphing linear equations with multiple transformations.  We practiced several problems together in class, identifying the presentation format and what clues to look for when deciding what type of transformation is occurring within the given problem based on the values of a, h and/or k. Students were then assigned practice workbook page 94 as homework, to be due on Friday in class.

The Chapter 3 test is scheduled for Monday 11/6/2017.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned into chapter 2 and rational numbers.  Students then were learning to multiply and divide rational numbers.  We reviewed the rules for multiplying and dividing with integers, as the same rules apply when multiplying and dividing rational numbers.  Next, we practiced several example problems together as a group, before students were assigned the rest of practice workbook page 40 #4-10 to be due on Friday in class.

Assignments: Review Homework #19 is due on Friday.  Practice workbook page 40 #4-10 are due Friday in class.  Students can expect a quiz on Friday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now. Next, students groups completed their reciprocated learning posters, and then each group began sharing what they learned about their assigned invention.
