8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned into chapter 4. We spent todays class period being introduced to linear equations. Students were introduced to slope intercept form, y = mx + b, and how to find ordered pairs or x/y coordinates in order to graph the line on the coordinate plane.
Assignments: Review HW #36 is due on Friday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students spent today's class period learning about how to write equations from a given line on a graph. Students spent today's class period graphing linear equations and forming equations from a given line on a graph. Students were then asked to complete the activities for section 7 of chapter 4. Workbook pages 95-97 are due Friday in class.
Assignments: Review HW #35 is due on Wednesday in class. Workbook pages 95-97 are due Friday in class.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned back into chemistry. Today, students reviewed how to find oxidation numbers for the elements, before we began talking about ionic bonds between metals and non-metals. After some teacher led instruction and two or three examples we did together, students were asked to complete the Ionic Bonds worksheet, modeling three more ionic bonds for class on Friday.
Assignments: Students should be coming into class on Friday with six ionic bonds modeled on the Ionic bonds worksheet.
