8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned into chapter 4. Students spent todays class period reviewing how to find the slope of a given line on the coordinate plane. Students were then introduced to the rules for determining if two lines are parallel or perpendicular. After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned page 77 & 78 of the practice workbook as homework, to be due Friday in class.
Assignments: Pages 77 & 78 of the practice workbook are due Friday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students spent today's class period completing the chapter 4 test.
Assignments: Students were asked to complete workbook pages 99 & 100, the Chapter 5 Fair Game Review, for class on Friday.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned back into chemistry. Today, students reviewed ionic and covalent bonds. Next, students were over the rules for naming compounds created during the bonding process. Students then completed the Bonding with a Classmate activity. Students were assigned a different element with an oxidation number, and were asked to move around the commons area in order to find another classmate with the proper element classification and oxidation number in order to form either a ionic or covalent bond.
Assignments: Students can be reviewing their bonding notes, as we are having a Chemical Bonding quiz on Friday in class.
