Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were continuing to work with chapter 8 and graphing polynomials.  Next, students were given the class period to begin the review process for the chapter 8 test on Friday.

Assignments: Students can expect the chapter 8 test on Friday.  

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were given some class time to continue memorizing their fraction/decimal/percent equivalents.  Next, students continued working with the coordinate plane.

Students are to learn and memorize 17 commonly used fractions and their decimal and percentage equivalents by April 19th.  We will spend some class time each week helping students with strategies to help them memorize this information.  

Assignments:  Students should be memorizing their Fractions/Decimals/Percent equivalents.

Science:  No science class today, as students were PEAK testing in the morning, then having math and language arts classes in the afternoon.

Assignments:  None.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were continuing to work with chapter 8 and graphing polynomials.  Next, students reviewed standard form f(x) = ax2 + bx + c, f(x) = a(x - h)² + k (vertex form) and intercept form f(x) = a(x - p)(x - q).  Students were then choosing functions to model a given dataset within section 8.6.  After some teacher led instruction and a few example problems, students were assigned some homework from the text book, pages 465-466, #9-17 odds, 21; 24; 25, to be due on Wednesday in class.

Students can expect the chapter 8 TEST on Friday morning of this week.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were given some class time to continue memorizing their fraction/decimal/percent equivalents.  Next, students were working with the coordinate plane.  Students were plotting points on the coordinate plane, as well as tracking points from a given plane in order to decode a hidden message.

Students are to learn and memorize 17 commonly used fractions and their decimal and percentage equivalents by April 19th.  We will spend some class time each week helping students with strategies to help them memorize this information.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #47 is due on Wednesday in class.

Students are to learn and memorize 17 commonly used fractions and their decimal and percentage equivalents by April 19th.  We will spend some class time each week helping students with strategies to help them memorize this information.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #46 is due on Friday in class.  Practice workbook page 92 is due on Tuesday if students did not complete the assignment in the class time provided.

Assignments:  The Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration diagram poster was due today in class.  If students did not complete the poster by the end of the day Thursday, they should be coming to class on Friday with it done.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were continuing to work with chapter 8 and graphing polynomials.  Next, students reviewed even and odd functions and how to identify those functions as well as how to graph a function of the form f(x) = a(x - h)².  Students were then graphing and identifying the transformations of the parent function of the form f(x = a(x - h)² + k (vertex form).  After some teacher led instruction and a few example problems, students were assigned some homework from the textbook page 446 - 447 #26; 31-34 all; 36; 38; 39; 43; 52; 57; 60, to be due on Tuesday in class.
