Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were continuing to work with chapter 8 and graphing polynomials.  Next, students reviewed standard form f(x) = ax2 + bx + c, f(x) = a(x - h)² + k (vertex form) and intercept form f(x) = a(x - p)(x - q).  Students were then choosing functions to model a given dataset within section 8.6.  After some teacher led instruction and a few example problems, students were assigned the explorations in the practice workbook, pages 270-271, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments: Students were assigned the explorations in the practice workbook, pages 270-271, to be due on Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were given some class time to continue memorizing their fraction/decimal/percent equivalents.  Next, students were identifying whether two given ratios form a proportion.  After some teacher led instruction and a class discussion, students were given class time to complete practice workbook page 92, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Students are to learn and memorize 17 commonly used fractions and their decimal and percentage equivalents by April 19th.  We will spend some class time each week helping students with strategies to help them memorize this information.

Assignments:  Review Homework #46 is due on Friday in class.  Practice workbook page 92 is due on Tuesday if students did not complete the assignment in the class time provided.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students then continued learning about photosynthesis and how that process is related to cellular respiration.  Today, students were given class time to finalize their photosynthesis and cellular respiration explanatory essays.

Assignments:  The Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration essay is due by 8:30am on Tuesday morning (April 9).
