Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were continuing to work with chapter 8 and graphing polynomials.  Next, students reviewed standard form f(x) = ax2 + bx + c, f(x) = a(x - h)² + k (vertex form) and intercept form f(x) = a(x - p)(x - q).  Students were then choosing functions to model a given dataset within section 8.6.  After some teacher led instruction and a few example problems, students were assigned some homework from the text book, pages 465-466, #9-17 odds, 21; 24; 25, to be due on Wednesday in class.

Students can expect the chapter 8 TEST on Friday morning of this week.

Assignments: Students were assigned some homework from the text book, pages 465-466, #9-17 odds, 21; 24; 25, to be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were given some class time to continue memorizing their fraction/decimal/percent equivalents.  Next, students were working with the coordinate plane.  Students were plotting points on the coordinate plane, as well as tracking points from a given plane in order to decode a hidden message.

Students are to learn and memorize 17 commonly used fractions and their decimal and percentage equivalents by April 19th.  We will spend some class time each week helping students with strategies to help them memorize this information.

Assignments:  Review Homework #47 is due on Wednesday in class.

Science:  No science class today, as students were PEAK testing in the morning, then having math and language arts classes in the afternoon.

Assignments:  The Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration essay is due by 8:30am on Tuesday morning (April 9).
